چکیده

Pulmonary adenoid cystic carcinoma (PACC) is an extremely rare neoplasm. Adenoid (ACC) usually occurs in the salivary glands of head and neck. Given its occurrence, there are no established guidelines for treatment progressive and/or relapsed disease. We herein report a case 57-year-old female who was incidentally found to have biopsy confirmed PACC following trauma diagnostic workup. She underwent pneumonectomy adjuvant radiation therapy with initial good response. On follow-up year later, she noted two metastatic liver lesions treated stereotactic body (SBRT) lenvatinib. This adds growing area research on PACC, especially among patients requiring SBRT oligometastatic

Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Buccal Mucosa with Rare Delayed Frontal Bone Metastasis: A Case Report

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) is a malignant neoplasm, which accounts for 5-10% of all salivary gland tumors (1). About 50% of these tumors originate from intraoral minor salivary glands usually in the hard palate (1). Three clinically obvious characteristics of AdCC include slow growth rate, perineural invasion and high incidence of distant metastasis (1). The most commonly-affected sites of...

Stereotactic body radiation therapy for liver metastases.

Although resection is the standard of care for liver metastasis, 80-90% of patients are not resectable at diagnosis. Advances in combination chemotherapy, particularly with targeted agents, have increased tumour response and survival in patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer, but these techniques have limitations and may be associated with high recurrence rates. Some autopsy se...

A rare case of lacrimal adenoid cystic carcinoma with large hepatic and multiple pulmonary metastases with successful surgical treatment

INTRODUCTION Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the lacrimal gland is rare but with high recurrence rates and late metastases. They occasionally metastasise via haematogenous spread to lungs, brain and bone. Liver is a rare site of metastasis and is usually present with disseminated disease. PRESENTATION OF CASE A 42 year old lady, a known case of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lacrimal gland...

Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma - A Rare Case Report

Adenoid cystic carcinoma also known as cylindroma is a rare tumor, accounting for only 1% of all malignant tumors of the oral and maxillofacial region. It accounts for 22% of all salivary gland malignancies and involves both major and minor salivary glands but the percentage for involvement of minor salivary gland is more than that of major salivary glands. 1 It is a slow growing tumor and is o...

Integration of Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy in the Management of Pulmonary Metastases from Salivary Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

In this teaching case, we use the example of a woman with pulmonary metastases from a parotid gland adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) to illustrate the optimal use of stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) in the context of other aggressive treatment options. Categories: Oncology
